AGU Media, DOHA (QAT): Dr Zahra Inche Dargahi became Iran Gymnastics Federation’s (IGF) first woman President after she was elected at a recent election held in Tehran, Iran.
Dargahi will have four-year term till 2021, as reported in Tehran Times
“I thank everyone for reposing their faith in me. I’m really honoured to be elected IGF head. I’ll do my best to develop the sport in our country. The Iranian women can participate wearing a hijab,” said Dargahi.
Shervin Asbaghian and Habib Nozohouri came second and third with 12 and four votes respectively, according to Tehran Times. Reza Mohammad Kazemi also received four votes.
