2 Gold medals for China in Trampoline Individual Final Asian Games 2010

Dong Dong CHN Asian Games 2010Guangzhou (China), AGU Office, November 22 – Dong Dong of China won the gold medal in Men’s Individual Trampoline of Gymnastics with a result of 44.50 in the Men’s Individual Final.

Two-time World Champion Dong Dong (CHN) added another Gold to his collection, taking the title in Guangzhou at his first Asian Games. The 21-year-old trampolinist qualified in top position on Sunday and confirmed his dominance in Monday’s Final, getting the better of compatriot Tu Xiao, with whom he had won the Synchronised Trampoline Final at the recent World Championships in Metz (FRA).

Japan’s Tetsuya Sotomura pushed his synchro partner and third qualifier Masaki Ito off the podium to take the Bronze.

Huang Shanshan of China won the gold medal in Women’s Individual Trampoline of Gymnastics with a result of 41.40 in the Women’s Individual Final.

Women’s Individual. The 2009 World Champion, Huang Shanshan, who had failed to defend her title in Metz when finishing second behind compatriot Li Dan, edged out 2008 Olympic Champion He Wenna (CHN) to take her second consecutive Asian Games Gold in Guangzhou. Huang had taken the title when Trampoline was first introduced to the programme at the 2006 Asian Games in Doha (QAT).

Ekaterina Khilko of Uzbekistan repeated the Bronze-medal finish she had produced in Doha Asian Games 2006.
