Japan’s MUNETA Rinon Shines at the Women’s Junior in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan, 26 May 2024– The Women’s Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) Junior Championship concluded today in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, showcasing exceptional talent from young gymnasts across Asia. The highlight of the competition was Japan’s MUNETA Rinon, who delivered a stellar performance, capturing multiple medals and demonstrating outstanding skill and grace across all apparatus.
All-Around INDIV:
MUNETA Rinon secured All-Around gold medal with an impressive score of 51.998, surpassing her closest competitor, Li Rongjinyi of China, who scored 51.732. OKURA Yuri, also from Japan, earned the bronze with a score of 50.398.
Medal Haul in Individual Apparatus Finals
In addition to her All-Around gold, MUNETA Rinon excelled in individual apparatus finals:
– Vault: Rinon clinched the gold medal with a score of 13.399. SUMIKAMA Mito of China took silver with 12.983, while CHU Yiming of Japan secured the bronze with 12.699.
– Uneven Bars: Rinon once again emerged victorious, scoring 13.133 to win gold. Li Rongjinyi of China earned silver with 12.933, and OKURA Yuri of Japan took bronze with 12.766.
– Balance Beam: This event saw HWANG SeohyuN of Korea winning gold with a score of 14.166. YAP Amanda of Singapore and SUMIKAMA Mito of Japan tied for silver, each scoring 12.800.
– Floor Exercise: OKURA Yuri of Japan topped the podium with a score of 13.133. Li Rongjinyi of China took silver with 12.966, and SUMIKAMA Mito of Japan earned bronze with 12.800.
Team Finals
The competition also featured an intense team final, where the People’s Republic of China emerged as the champions with a total score of 154.295. Japan followed closely, earning silver with 152.962, and Korea took bronze with 141.463.
