A Night of Champions in Jecheon: Yulo Soars, Kurbanov Reigns, and China Dominates the Rings

Saturday, 7 June 2025 – Jecheon, Korea The energy inside Jecheon Arena was electric as Asia’s finest senior gymnasts battled for individual glory in the first day of apparatus finals at the 2025 Artistic Gymnastics Asian Championships. With medals at stake on floor exercise, pommel horse, and still rings, the crowd witnessed a blend of power, elegance, and history-making routines.

Carlos Yulo Delivers Gold for the Philippines

There was no stopping Carlos Edriel Yulo. The floor belonged to him from the first tumbling pass to the final stick. With clean landings, explosive difficulty, and unmatched confidence, the Filipino star earned a top score of 14.600 to secure the gold medal.

Kazakhstan’s Milad Karimi came close with a powerful performance of his own, taking silver with 14.400. The bronze went to Moon Geonyoung, who delighted the home crowd with 14.033, marking a proud moment for Korea.

Kurbanov Shows Class on Pommel Horse

When Nariman Kurbanov mounts the pommel horse, he makes it look effortless. The Kazakh Olympian once again proved why he’s one of the best in the world, scoring 14.933 to take home the gold.

Host nation favorite Hur Woong wasn’t far behind. His smooth, composed routine earned him silver with 14.633, drawing loud cheers from the home fans. The bronze went to Vietnam’s rising star Dang Ngoc Xuan Thien, who posted a strong 14.233.

China Owns the Rings Final

On still rings, it was a show of strength and control from Team China. LAN Xingyu soared to the top of the podium with a masterful routine that scored 14.933, just ahead of his teammate Yang Haonan, who secured silver with 14.233.

But it was Iran’s Siavash Kolankouh Siavash who stole some of the spotlight, claiming bronze with 14.133 — a proud result for the Iranian camp.
