August 5-10, 2024 – Tashkent, Uzbekistan, The Asian Gymnastics Union (AGU) successfully concluded its Acrobatic Gymnastics Training Camp for coaches, held from August 5 to 10, 2024, at the Gymnastics Sport Palace in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Coaches from Kyrgyzstan, India, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan participated in this intensive training program aimed at advancing their expertise in acrobatics coaching.
Led by Yurii Holiak, a renowned expert and member of the FIG Acrobatics Gymnastics Technical Committee, the camp featured both theoretical and practical sessions designed to enhance coaching techniques.
During the theoretical sessions, Holiak delved into critical aspects of coaching acrobatic gymnastics. Key topics included:
1. Characteristics that define a successful acrobatics coach.
2. Comprehensive analysis of the rules, covering judges’ and referees’ roles, artistry, and the balance and dynamic components of routines.
3. Guidelines for optimal coach behavior during training and competition.
The practical sessions allowed coaches to work hands-on with various acrobatic elements, including jumps, static holds, dynamic movements, throws, catches, and supports.
This camp served as an important platform for the participating nations to further develop their coaching standards and promote acrobatic gymnastics across Asia.
AGU remains committed to fostering the growth of gymnastics through such initiatives, ensuring that coaches continue to evolve and contribute to the success of the sport throughout the region.
