AGU name Sheikh Ahmed as its honorary president
AGU Media, DOHA (QAT): The Asian Gymnastics Union (AGU) is honoured to announce Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) President Sheikh Ahmed Al Fahad Al Sabah as its Honorary President.
“We’re happy to announce his name as AGU Honorary President for his outstanding services to international sports,” said AGU President Mr Abdulrahman Al Shathri.
The announcement was made on the sidelines of the 48th FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships, where he was one of the VIP guests alongwith FIG President Morinari Watanabe.
The AGU President exchanged pleasantries with Sheikh Ahmed and discussed on gymnastics development in the continent.
The Kuwaiti has undertaken numerous significant sporting positions globally and has been the OCA President since 1991 and a member of the IOC since 1992.
