AGU Officials visit Myanmar Gymnastics Federation

Visit-ministry-of-sport MYA 2012Doha (QAT), AGU Office: July 21, 2012: Following an invitation by U Thein Win (MYA),
President of the Myanmar Gymnastics Federation, AGU officials presented by AGU President Mr. A-Rahman Al-Shathri (QAT) and AGU Technical Manager Mr. Anis Saoud and South East Asian Zone officials represented by the President of the zone Mr. Sawat Sopa and the Secretary General Mr. Srayuth Patanasak visited Myanmar for two days; 11-12 July 2012. The visit was very ambitious and promises a bright future for gymnastics in Myanmar.
On the first day, the delegation was received by the Ministry of Sport Mr. H.E. U Tint Hsan in his office in NayPyiTaw the new capital of Myanmar, the propose of the visit is to convince the minister to include Artistic Gymnastics events within the The 27th Southeast Asian Games which will be held in Myanmar during December 2013; after the exchange of views and thought that the visit was very fruitful and convincing to the ministry to promote gymnastics in Myanmar with a big support of AGU and South East Asian Gymnastics Zone.
After the meeting the delegation visited the New Gymnastics training centre in NayPyiTaw (MYA). The centre is not only important to the development of Gymnastics in the region, but it provides a place for the Myanmar Gymnastics elite to train. Thus, in preparation of the The 27th Southeast Asian Games, which is scheduled to be held in Naypyitaw, the new capital of Myanmar, as well as in two other main cities, Yangon and Mandalay. 
 The Myanmar national Artistic Gymnastics team (men and women) train in respectively in Naypyitaw and Yangon.
Myanmar had already hosted the Games in 1961 and 1969 respectively in Yangon, the then capital of Myanmar. This will be the third time that Myanmar will host the Southeast Asian Games. Singapore withdrew its hosting rights due to expected delays in the completion of its new national stadium.
On July 12, 2012 and following the invitation of the President of the East Asian Gymnastics Zone Mr. Sawat Sopa; AGU President Mr. A-Rahman Al-Shathri (QAT) and AGU Technical Manager Mr. Anis Saoud attended the first part of the extraordinary General Assembly of the Zone. The AGU President expressed his pleasure to attend the meeting and meet the different President of the zone federations which are: Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Myanmar with the absence of Cambodia and Vietnam. AGU President asked them to cooperate with AGU to help Myanmar federation to develop gymnastics in Myanmar in all sectors (coaches, judges, gymnasts, administrators, ect..) and organize a successful gymnastics events during the SEA Games 2013. 
AGU President thanks Mr. U Thein Win, the President Mr. U Aye Thein the Secretary General and Nay Htun Min the member of the Myanmar Gymnastics Federation for the hospitality and the wonderful reception he received during the visit.
