AGU President conveys best wishes to Mongolian Federation

DOHA (QAT) AGU Office: The Asian Gymnastics Union President Mr Abdurrahman Al-Shathri conveyed his best wishes to the Mongolian Gymnastics Federation for hosting the 8th Senior ART Asian Championships, which started on Wednesday.
“I take this opportunity to extend my support and best wishes to the Mongolian Gymnastics Federation for hosting. AGU is always ready to back up its member federations for the sport’s development. We also want to make Asian gymnastics better and stronger from the organisational point of view,” Mr Al Shathri was quoted as saying on the AGU website.
The four-day tournament at the Buyant Ukhaa Sport Palace will feature several top teams including China, Japan, Chinese Taipei, South and North Korea.
“I thank the Mongolian government for their unstinted support in hosting the tournament in their country. I hope the gymnasts will use this platform to showcase their talents in this year’s first major senior competitions of AGU,” added Al Shathri.
A total of 19 countries are scheduled to take part including 15 nations decided to field full team while Hong Kong, Jordan, Mongolia and Qatar will participate with individual gymnasts.
“Our sponsors Qatar Insurance Company and Taishan should also be praised for their involvement and support in making our tournaments successful.
I wish all the gymnasts and the participating delegates a pleasant stay in Ulanbaatar,” he said.
