Asia Dominates in Jakarta: Hashimoto Golden, Zhang Silver, and Four of Top Five from the Continent

Jakarta (INA), 22 October 2025 — Asia’s gymnasts once again proved their global strength at the 53rd FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships, where four Asian competitors placed within the top five of the Men’s All-Around Final.

Japan’s Daiki Hashimoto confirmed his supremacy by winning gold with a total of 85.131, capping his campaign with a remarkable 14.700 on Horizontal Bar and solid scores throughout the six apparatuses. His consistency and focus secured another world title for Japan.

Zhang Boheng of China, the 2021 world champion, delivered another world-class performance to claim silver with 84.333, staying within striking distance until the final routine. His execution, particularly on Parallel Bars (14.700) and Rings (14.466), underlined his technical mastery.

Noe Seifert of Switzerland broke into the Asian stronghold to take bronze with 82.831, separating China’s Shi Cong, who finished fourth (82.297), from Japan’s Shinnosuke Oka, who closed the top five on 81.797.

Oka, who was in medal contention most of the evening, faced heartbreak on his final apparatus — Floor Exercise — where a fall dropped his score to 11.866, costing him a podium finish. Still, his earlier 14.700 on Pommel Horse and 14.300 on Parallel Bars demonstrated his immense promise for Japan’s next generation.

With first, second, fourth, and fifth place finishes, Asian gymnasts left no doubt about their dominance — a testament to the continent’s technical excellence, discipline, and artistic expression on the world stage.
