Pamplona, Spain – 9 November 2025  Asian gymnasts achieved remarkable success at the 2025 Trampoline World Championships in Pamplona, led by athletes from the People’s Republic of China and Japan, who collected multiple medals across individual, synchronised, and team events.

After several days without podium finishes, China closed the competition with three gold and two bronze medals on the final day. Wang Zisai and Hu Yicheng captured the Men’s and Women’s Individual World titles respectively, while Chinese pairs added bronze medals in both the Men’s and Women’s Synchronised Trampoline events. The collective effort also earned China the World Team All-Around title, its second in history after the inaugural win in 2018.

Wang, 19, delivered a confident and composed routine to score 63.470 points, securing his first world title and maintaining China’s dominance in men’s trampoline, which has seen the nation win nearly every world title since 2006. “I was nervous during the wait, but I managed to stay focused and perform my best,” Wang said.

In the women’s event, Hu Yicheng became the first Chinese gymnast in a decade to claim the individual gold. Her strong execution and superior time of flight earned 57.350 points, narrowly surpassing Japan’s Mori Hikaru, who took silver with 57.320. Canada’s Sophiane Methot completed the podium with bronze.

Japan also celebrated success in the synchronised events. Mori Hikaru and Tanaka Saki won gold in Women’s Synchronised Trampoline with 50.250 points, showing excellent coordination and artistry. In the Men’s Synchronised event, Matsumoto Yusei and Miyano Hayato secured silver for Japan, while Chen Yuhan and Wang Dong earned bronze for China.

In addition, Miyano Hayato captured bronze in the Men’s Individual Final after performing a routine featuring eight triple somersaults, one of the most technically demanding of the competition.

The strong results from both China and Japan reaffirm Asia’s continued prominence in world trampoline gymnastics, setting a high standard ahead of upcoming international competitions and the road to the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
