China win MAG, WAG Senior ART Asian team titles
DOHA (QAT) AGU Office: China maintained their stranglehold by winning the MAG and WAG team titles at the 8th Senior ART Asian Championships in Ulanbaatar (Mongolia) on Thursday.
The men’s team of Liu Rongbing, Lan Xingyu, Huang Mingqi, Hu Xuwei and Yang Jiaxing were good enough to tally 253.233 points to claim the first position.
China, the reigning world champion, were followed by Japan (251.233) and Chinese Taipei (246.097) respectively.
Korea Republic (245.966) and Kazakhstan (240.599) finished fifth and sixth respectively.
The Chinese women made it a double delight for their country at the Buyant Ukhaa Sport Palace, where the combined efforts of Lu Yufei, Liu Jieyu, Zhou Ruiyu, Yu Linmin and Zhao Shiting saw them collect an impressive 161.050 points.
Like the men, Japan, who won the bronze at the 2018 World Championships in Doha, once again finished behind China with 154.550 points followed by Korea Republic (150.650).
For the first time in Asian competitions, prize money were distributed to the top three teams.
The winners received $1000 while the second and third-placed teams were awarded with $800 an $500 respectively.
