FIG, AGU presidents attends gymnastics event at SEA Games
DOHA (QAT) AGU Office: The Gymnastics events at the 30th SEA Games in the Philippines got over on Saturday (Dec 7).
FIG President Mr Morinari Watanabe and AGU President Mr Abdulrahman Al Shathri, who graced the occasion, praised the efforts of the Gymnastics Association of the Philippines for the smooth conduct of the competition.
“I thank the organisers on the successful completion of the Gymnastics event,” said Mr Watanabe.
Meanwhile, world champion Carlos Edriel Yulo (in picture) of the host nation re-affirmed his class by winning the all-around finals of the men’s artistic gymnastics competition at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum.
“AGU is very proud about the excellent results from the Filipino gymnasts. The quality of the organization of Gymnastics Competitions was excellent,” said Mr Al Shathri.
In front of his home fans, 19-year-old Yulo tallied 84.900 points in six apparatus to beat Vietnamese duo Dinh Phuong Thanh and Le Thanh Tung, who scored 82.350 and 81.700 points for the silver and bronze medals respectively.
The 2020 Tokyo Olympics-bound Filipino finished with two gold and five silver medals.
