First Technical Delegates Meeting Held for 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026
Aichi-Nagoya, Japan – April 2025 The first Technical Delegates (TD) Meeting for the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026 was successfully held, marking a crucial milestone in the preparation for one of Asia’s most anticipated multi-sport events. The meeting was attended by key representatives from the Asian Gymnastics Union (AGU) and the Local Organizing Committee (LOC).
Leading the LOC delegation was Mr. Fuji Toshiaki, Sport Manager for the Games, who hosted the AGU Technical Delegates during their official visit. The AGU was represented by a distinguished panel of AGU TD Presidents: Mrs. Gyozal Muminova (Rhythmic Gymnastics), Mrs. Rima Kizilgun (Women’s Artistic Gymnastics), Mr. Han Yoon Soo (Men’s Artistic Gymnastics), Mr. Liu Xing (Trampoline), and Mr. Serge Van Poelvoorde, AGU Technical Manager.
The program included a series of coordination meetings with the LOC as well as comprehensive site visits to proposed venues. Discussions focused on logistical planning, venue readiness, technical requirements, and athlete services, all aimed at ensuring a world-class competition environment in line with AGU and Olympic Council of Asia standards.
The 20th Asian Games are scheduled to take place from September 19 to October 4, 2026, and are expected to welcome around 15,000 participants from across the continent, including athletes, officials, and support staff.
This initial TD meeting reflects the strong collaborative spirit between the LOC and AGU, setting the tone for the continued progress toward delivering a successful and memorable edition of the Asian Games.
