Singapore Gymnastics will be organising our annual Gymfest on 12 November 2011 at Jurong East Sports Hall. This is in line with achieving Singapore Gymnastics vision of “Gymnastics for Everyone – Enjoyment and Excellence” and the mission of promoting gymnastics as a sport for all ages. Gymnastics for All (GFA) is also one of the seven official disciplines of Gymnastics as defined by the Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique (FIG) and the Asian Gymnastics Union ( AGU ) . This event will comprise of numerous performances incorporating dance, aerobic movements, mass displays, calisthenics, and a variety of basic gymnastics movements, to bring out the qualities of Gymnastics for All – Fun, Fitness, Fundamentals, and Friendship!
In July 2011, Singapore Gymnastics will also have the great pleasure of sending the winners of the Most Creative Performance at Gymfest 2010 – Nanyang Primary, to participate in the World Gymnaestrada, held once every four years with about 25,000 participants, in Lausanne, Switzerland. Singapore Gymnastics is extremely confident that the 40-strong contingent will live all the magic engendered by this extraordinary gymnastics festival!
Gymnastics for All is practiced everywhere and by all, regardless of age or cultural or ethnic status. As such, in addition to local performances, foreign counterparts are also invited every year to participate in this entertaining event. Gymfest 2011 promises to be filled with exciting gymnastics performances, and we would like to invite you to be part of this joyous event!
