Hanif elected as Afghanistan NOC President

AGU Media, DOHA (QAT): Mahmoud Hanif was elected as the new Afghanistan National Olympic Committee (AFG-NOC) President at a recent election held under the supervision of the country’s independent electoral commission in Kabul.
On behalf of the Afghanistan Gymnastic Federation, Gen. Shah Malang Muthahed also attended the General Assembly as a voting member.
He will serve a four-year term at the office in pursuance of the Olympic Charter and the Statutes of the AFG-NOC.
Besides Hanif, Humayoon Alamyan and Ahamd Zia Nayibi were the other contestants in the presidential elections, but the incumbent pipped his rivals, managing with 28 votes from the 31 members.
