Kazakhstan and China Lead the Way at the 2025 Artistic Gymnastics World Cup in Doha
Doha, Qatar – April 18, 2025 The 17th Artistic Gymnastics World Cup – Taishan, hosted by the Qatar Gymnastics Federation and held in Doha from April 16–19, showcased remarkable performances from Asian athletes, with standout showings from Kazakhstan and China. Hosted at the Aspire Dome, the competition highlighted Asia’s growing presence in the sport, with gymnasts from the region making strong podium finishes across multiple apparatus finals.
In the Men’s Floor Exercise (FX), Kazakhstan’s Milad Karimi delivered a powerful routine to take the gold medal with a score of 14.466. His teammate, Altynkhan Temirbek, followed with a silver (13.633).Kazakhstan’s double podium finish in FX highlights the country’s continued growth and competitive edge in men’s gymnastics.
China’s You Hao dominated the Rings final, claiming gold with a score of 14.400 in a routine marked by exceptional strength and control. Meanwhile, Hong Yanming of China took silver on the Pommel Horse, with Kazakhstan’s Nariman Kurbanov securing the bronze.
Beyond the competition floor, Asian judges also played an active role in the Women’s Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) events. Rima Kizilgun, President of the AGU WAG Technical Committee, was present in a support capacity, assisting with technical aspects of the event. Joining the judging panels were Abeer Al-Buainain (Qatar) and Stella Evgenevna (Uzbekistan), both of whom contributed their experience to ensure fair and accurate judging throughout the competition.
