Lee, Zhou win MAG, WAG All-Around titles
DOHA (QAT) AGU Office: It may be somewhat of a surprise result, but Lee Chih-Kai of Taiwan won the Men’s All-Around final here at the 8th Senior ART Asian Championships in Ulaanbaatar (Mongolia) on Thursday.
Lee, who won his country’s first World Championship medal in a quarter-century last year in Doha, pipped two Chinese challengers Hu Xuwei and Liu Rongbing in one of the most attractive events of the competition.
The individual apparatuses finals (MAG & WAG) will be held tomorrow.
Lee, a pommel horse expert, collected 83.666 points for his efforts.
Hu (83.167) was a shade closer, but had to be content with a silver while his team-mate Liu (82.867) took the bronze.
Zhou wins WAG All-Around gold
China, however, overcame the disappointment of MAG All-Around final after Zhou Ruiyu clinched the top honour in the WAG final.
She finished with 53.400 points which was .250 more than her team-mate Lu Yufei.
Hanashima Natsumi (JPN) claimed the bronze with 51.300 points.
