RG International Judges’ Course in Singapore (SIN), January 11 – 17, 2010
This year’s first FIG International Judges’ Course for Rhythmic Gymnastics took place at the Copthorne Orchid Hotel in Singapore (SIN) from January 11 – 17.
The course was led by Nataliya Kuzmina (RUS), Vice President of the FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics Technical Committee, with the support of Ms Gon Hwee Cheng, President of the Singapore Gymnastics Federation, Mr Lee Hong Chuang, 1st Vice President, and Ms Lim Siew Kuan, Team Manager for Rhythmic Gymnastics. Eight judges from four different countries participated (SIN, PHI, HKG, KOR).
These practised judging throughout the course with the help of video clips from recent international competitions, e.g. the 29th World Championships in Mie (JPN), the 8th World Games in Kaoshiung (TPE), and the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. The clips prepared specifically for this practical exam were made ready using FIG IRCOS technology.
Expert Kuzmina thanked the Gymnastics Federation of Singapore for excellent organisation of the course. Kuzmina says she was especially delighted with the participation of young judges from Singapore and their subsequent results; these judges will be assisting their federation in hosting the 1st Youth Olympic Games this summer.
