Sugihara Claims All-Around Gold as China Tops Team Qualification in Jecheon

Jecheon, South Korea – June 12, 2025 Japan’s Aiko Sugihara stole the show in Jecheon, winning gold in the Individual All-Around Final at the 12th Senior Women’s Artistic Gymnastics Asian Championships. With poise and precision across all four apparatuses, she scored a total of 54.765 to take the top spot on the podium.

Her teammate Haruka Nakamura delivered a strong and elegant performance to claim silver with 54.365, while China’s Qin Xinyi secured bronze with 53.599, wrapping up a tightly contested final between two gymnastics powerhouses.

China Leads in Team Qualification

In the team qualification, China proved their dominance once again with a total score of 163.363, finishing first thanks to standout routines from Zhang Xinyi, Zhou Yaqin, and Zhang Kexin. Their consistency across all apparatuses kept them just ahead of a determined Japanese squad.

Japan Follows Close Behind

Japan placed second with 162.661, delivering a balanced performance marked by finesse and control. The team’s combined efforts, including strong showings on bars and beam, earned them the silver medal heading into the finals.

Korea Claims Bronze on Home Soil

Host nation Korea rounded out the top three with 154.330, winning bronze in front of a proud local crowd. Led by Lee Yunseo, Park Nayoung, and Eom Dohyun, the team showed solid routines, especially on floor and beam, earning well-deserved applause from the Jecheon arena.
