Takhmina Ikromova Shines with Two Gold Medals at the 2025 Asian Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships in Singapore

Singapore – May 18, 2025 – Uzbekistan’s rhythmic gymnastics team dominated the 2025 Asian Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships, finishing at the top of the medal table with a series of outstanding performances in Singapore.

Takhmina Ikromova continued her reign as one of the top gymnasts in Asia, winning two gold medals in the Hoop and Clubs finals. Ikromova topped the Hoop final with a score of 28.700, edging out Japan’s Mirano Kita (26.700) and Uzbekistan’s Anastasiya Sarantseva (26.400). In the Clubs final, she triumphed once again with a 29.350, securing the second gold of the competition for Uzbekistan. Reina Matsusaka of Japan took second place with 27.900, while Kazakhstan’s Aiym Meirzhanova earned bronze with a score of 27.450.

Meanwhile, Anastasiya Sarantseva also claimed gold, winning the Ball final with a score of 29.050. She was followed by Matsusaka in second place (27.900), and Ikromova who rounded out the top three with 27.450. Sarantseva’s remarkable performance helped Uzbekistan extend its dominance in the competition.

In the Ribbon final, Aibota Yertaikyzy of Kazakhstan claimed the gold with a strong score of 28.150, preventing a full Uzbek sweep. Sarantseva finished in second place with 27.550, while Japan’s Matsusaka completed the top three (27.200).

While Uzbekistan claimed the top spots in the individual apparatus finals, Kazakhstan made a mark in the group events. In the 5 Ribbons final, Uzbekistan won the gold with a score of 25.850, while Kazakhstan took second (24.100). The 3+2 group final saw Kazakhstan shine with a 26.650, followed by Uzbekistan in second place with 25.150.

Japan, despite securing four medals across the individual apparatus finals, finished without a gold in the competition. However, they were consistently in the mix, with Matsusaka’s strong performances earning her multiple podium finishes.

The championships showcased not only individual brilliance but also the growing strength of rhythmic gymnastics in Asia. Uzbekistan’s top-tier gymnasts proved their dominance once again, while Kazakhstan’s stellar group performance demonstrated their rising power on the continental stage.
