Unstoppable Japan: Clean Sweep in Junior Team and All-Around Finals
Friday, June 6, 2025 – Korea The junior competition at the 2025 Asian Gymnastics Championships delivered a thrilling showcase of rising talent — and Team Japan made a powerful statement by claiming both the team gold and the top two spots in the individual all-around final.
From the very first rotation, Japan’s gymnasts showed calm confidence and exceptional execution, earning a total team score of 237.595. With consistent routines across all six apparatuses, the team proved they were a class above the rest.
Competing at home, Team Korea impressed with strong performances and energy that carried them to second place with 229.360. Just behind them, Team Kazakhstan delivered a solid campaign, scoring 228.728 to complete the podium in third.
The individual all-around final added even more excitement. OJIMA Nao of Japan delivered a standout performance, scoring 79.465 to take the individual gold medal. He was closely followed by CHA Yejun of Korea, who impressed on floor and pommel horse to earn 78.964 and the silver medal. Japan’s TANIDA Tomoharu took bronze with a clean and composed performance totaling 78.365.
Kazakhstan’s KHEGAY Roman wasn’t far behind, finishing fourth with 78.231, while Japan’s YOKOYAMA Daikirounded out the top five with 77.531.
