Wang Qi and Yerekesheva Dominate Junior Finals at Asian Rhythmic Championships

May 18, 2025 – Singapore The junior apparatus finals at the 2025 Asian Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships came to a thrilling conclusion on Saturday at the OCBC Arena in Singapore, as Asia’s next generation of rhythmic talents delivered a captivating display of elegance, control, and athletic artistry.

China’s Wang Qi emerged as the standout performer of the junior finals, capturing three individual gold medals across the hoop, clubs, and all-around standings, and further solidifying her place among Asia’s most promising rhythmic gymnasts. With her calm presence, expressive choreography, and refined technique, Wang left a lasting impression in Singapore.

In the hoop final, Wang delivered a commanding routine that earned her a score of 26.350, narrowly edging out Uzbekistan’s Viktoriya Nikiforova, who performed with both sharpness and finesse to score 26.100. Sofia Iarovaia of Kyrgyzstan completed the podium with 25.750, showing remarkable control and fluidity throughout her performance.

The ball final saw Kazakhstan’s Akmaral Yerekesheva rise to the top, dazzling the judges with a graceful and technically rich routine to secure gold with 26.600. Sofiya Usova of Uzbekistan followed with 24.750, while Wang Qi added another medal to her collection with 24.600, placing third.

In the clubs final, it was once again Wang Qi who triumphed, earning 25.750 for a clean, dynamic performance packed with difficult exchanges and expressive movement. Yerekesheva continued her medal haul with 25.600 for silver, and Nikiforova took the bronze with 25.250, maintaining Uzbekistan’s presence across the podiums.

The final event of the day, ribbon, saw Yerekesheva clinch her second gold with another 26.600 score, her routine noted for its musicality and fluid transitions. Usova impressed again with 25.950 for silver, and Wang secured yet another podium with 25.000 for bronze.
