Chinese pair Dong, Xiao win gold in World Games

AGU Media, DOHA (QAT): China’s four-time world champions Dong Dong and Tu Xiao added another golden chapter to in men’s acrobatic gymnastics and synchronised trampoline by winning their second consecutive titles at The World Games in Wroclaw, Poland on Sunday.
The Games, officially called the X World Games, is a major international multi-discipline event, meant for sports, or disciplines or events within a sport, that are not contested at the Olympic Games
Dong and Xiao are aware of glory at the Games after having triumphed in Cali, Colombia, four years ago.
But the Chinese pair had to endure a bit of struggle in the qualification round when Dong made a rare mistake by landing on the boards of the trampoline mid-routine and putting China in the unusual position of needing help from other pairs to assure themselves a place in the final.
They got it, and used their second chance to blitz the field, delivering their usual brilliance for first place.
Wrocław was the sixth city in Europe after London (1985), Karlsruhe (1989), The Hague (1993), Lahti (1997) and Duisburg (2005) to host the competition.
