Asian RG Championships: Zhao shines; Uzbekistan win overall team title

DOHA (QAT) AGU Office: China’s Zhao Yating won the Apparatus Final Individuals (Hoop) at the 11th Senior Asian Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships in Pattaya (Thailand).
Zhao tallied 19,600 points while Kazakhstan’s Adilya Tlekenova (19,450) Uzbekistan’s Ekaterina Fetisova (18,000) finished second and third respectively.
Zhao added her second gold in Ball final where she collected 19,900 points. Kazakhstan’s Aidana Shakenova (19,200) and Adilya (19,100) won the silver and bronze medals respectively.
But Uzbekistan emerged as the best team in Apparatus Final Groups (5 Balls) with a score of 26,100 points followed by Japan (25,350) and China (22,450).
Sabina Tashkenbaeva of Uzbekistan took the All-Around title with 75,550 points.
Zhao, who had a great competition, picked up her third medal by winning the silver (72,500) in the same event while Adilya (70,550) also impressed with a bronze-medal finish.
Uzbekistan maintained their domination in RG gymnastics by winning the overall team title (146,700). China had to be content with a second place (141,900) while Japan (139,750) finished third.
