AGU’s GfA Training Camp in Mongolia: A Milestone for Gymnastics Development
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia – October 3, 2023 – The Asian Gymnastics Union (AGU) is delighted to announce the successful conclusion of the Gymnastics for All (GfA) Training Camp held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, from September 28th to October 1st, 2023. This transformative event brought together 25 participants from nine countries, shaping the future of gymnastics in the region.
Under the leadership of Mr. Araki Tatsuo, President of the AGU GfA Committee, and with the expertise of Mr. Rogerio Valério, FIG President of the GfA Committee, the training camp proved to be an invaluable platform for young leaders to enhance their understanding of GfA and its role within the gymnastics community.
The comprehensive program included informative lectures and practical sessions, fostering a deep appreciation for the fundamental exercises and hand apparatus work integral to GfA. Participants not only learned about the GfA but also gained insights into FIG events and methodologies, enriching their knowledge base.
Mr. Yeruulbat Galbadrakh, representing the Mongolia Gymnastics Federation, played a pivotal role in organizing this remarkable event. International coordination was overseen by Mr. Ankhbayar Shirchinjav, ensuring the seamless exchange of knowledge and ideas.
Reflecting on the camp’s success, Mr. Araki Tatsuo expressed his satisfaction, saying, “Many young leaders took part in this training camp. They attended an international course for the first time and gained a lot of new information. They experienced FIG events and the GfA method, and they were able to learn about the GfA and the GfA’s work. They were also able to have positive discussions for the 6th Asian Gymnaestrada.”
The AGU encourages other national gymnastics federations to consider organizing similar training camps independently, recognizing their potential to empower future gymnastic leaders.
